Hello! Thank you for visiting my shop and taking the time to find out more about what I do.

I love colour and pattern. One of my early memories is playing with my mother's embroidery threads and that childhood fascination with colour has stayed with me.

My mother, an old-school sewing teacher and talented dressmaker, nurtured my interest in textiles and taught me to sew, knit, embroider and crochet. These skills have always given me great pleasure and I can't remember a time when I haven't had several projects on the go.

Over the years I accumulated a large stock of dressmaking scraps, pieces of material I had never quite got around to using, odds and ends of wool and embroidery threads, sequins, beads, ribbons, buttons ... it drove my husband mad!

One day I combined some strips of my materials with layers of stitching and my unique stripwork fabric was born. I used that first piece to make a bag for a friend. She loved it and soon I was getting requests from other people when birthdays and Christmas came around.

What started as an occasional hobby slowly grew and I created designs for more products. Every item made with my stripwork fabric is unique - and that is very important to me. I try to make my tartan and tweed products individual but inevitably there can be close similarities.
